Yahoo! Hong Kong ranks top in search engine rankings, reports Experian Hitwise
Hong Kong, April 7, 2011 — Experian Hitwise®, a part of Experian Marketing Services today revealed that Yahoo! Hong Kong has captured the highest search engine share among Hong Kong Internet users. From 1 January till the week ending 26 March, Yahoo! Hong Kong accounted for 47.63 percent of all search queries conducted which resulted in a click to a website.
According to Experian’s Hitwise Search Intelligence service, which provides extensive insights into the search behaviour of 1.8 million Hong Kong Internet users, Google Hong Kong comprised 29.87 percent of searches for the same period. Hong Kong Internet users showed preference for the local sites for both search engines as compared to their main global sites, Google.com and Yahoo.com, which received 14.06 percent and 1.73 percent respectively. In Hong Kong, Bing received 1.63 percent share of search clicks (Figure 1).
